Rishikesh Vishwakarma has been into a training & consulting intensive career during his recent past of over 12 years where he has been engaged in designing & delivering trainings in the area of Quality Management, Lean, Six-Sigma and various other operational excellence initiatives for automotive, non-automotive, service & process industries.

Lean Six-Sigma is a methodology to solve chronic problems in a systematic manner. Lean & Six-Sigma together gives ability to address effectiveness as well as efficiency related problems. Lean Six-Sigma when applied as a management system serves the purpose of Operational Excellence.

During his 20 years long association with Tata Motors, he developed a multilevel Lean Six-Sigma certification program (Q-STAR) and delivered it successfully throughout the organization. There, he personally trained over 800 Yellow Belts, 400 Green Belts, 200 Champions in ‘Lean Six-Sigma’ in addition to more than 1200 in SPC, MSA, PFMEA, DFMEA, DWM, WSS, QFD, APQP, PPAP, DOE, Process Validation, TRIZ, GD&T, etc and guided more than 1200 improvement projects based on Six-Sigma, QC Story, Kaizen and various other approaches. He was consistently rated highest for his highly acclaimed training programs in TATA Motors. He was also facilitating implementation of ‘World Class Quality’ systems at TML Lucknow. He has assessed various TATA Motors plants for ‘World Class Quality’ certification.

As consultant, his assignments in last 6.5 years include trainings and project handholding on Problem Solving using QC Story & Six-Sigma at Green / Black Belt levels; Defect & failure prevention through HERCA, Poka-Yoke, PFMEA, DFMEA & MFMEA; problem solving & process validation using DOE; reliability analysis and improvements; NPD process development with APQP, PPAP and all automotive core tools like – SPC, MSA, FMEA, etc; implementing VSM & Lean; creating model line & model plant; facilitating Kaizen blitzes on Cost, Safety, Quality, delivery, productivity & efficiency; implementing Hoshin Kanri and DWM, SMED, VDA 6.3, Jishu Hozen, Quality Maintenance & Process Pont Analysis (PPA) approach in TPM; facilitating on QC Tools, GD&T, TRIZ, Analytics, Incident Investigation; implementing OEM driven or customized Operational Excellence models; and conducting Train - The - Trainer workshops.

Rishikesh was also engaged in a British Council sponsored project in association with Bradford College, UK for enhancing employability skills in automotive sector and has been to Bradford College, UK to learn modern training & facilitation skills & managing advanced learning environments.

Rishikesh also conducts various open programs through physical & virtual modes for the benefits of larger section of industry.

Before leaving TATA Motors, Rishikesh was leading Quality Engineering at Lucknow plant where he was handling teams for World Class Quality initiative, product & process audits, SPC monitoring, NABL certified labs, regulatory compliance audits, Product Quality Standards, QMS, Kaizen, 5S, suggestion scheme and IT enablement of Quality. During his prior assignments in TATA Motors, Rishikesh has handled field failures & warranty analysis, product testing & field trails, new product Quality planning, project management for new product introductions, factory planning & improvement, standardization, product data & engineering change management, etc. He has handled prestigious projects like Low Floor & Rear Engine Buses, CNG vehicles and CNG dream circuit from both project management and Quality planning perspectives. He has been involved in various new product development activities in India and Bangladesh. He has worked with a network of suppliers, body builders and service centers across the country. He has developed & institutionalized processes like ‘New Product Quality Planning’ and ‘Product Transfer Process’ based on APQP and developed various systems for IT enablement of processes.

Going with his academic interest, he has also presented award winning technical papers at national forums and he keeps abreast with seminars and workshops on soft and hard skills.
